Consultancy Terms of Engagement

H2O Supplies Pty Ltd – Waterproofing Advisory & Specification Services


1. Scope of Services

H2O Supplies provides advisory and consultancy services relating to waterproofing, product selection, installation guidance, defect assessment, and specification outlines.
Our consultancy may include:

  • Site inspections and condition assessments.

  • Product suitability advice and system recommendations.

  • Advisory specifications for contractors to follow.

  • Coordination with manufacturers for technical input.

  • Review of contractor workmanship where required.

H2O Supplies does not perform licensed waterproofing works, carpentry, plumbing, or building work. We do not issue Form 15 compliance certificates.

All installation, certification, and compliance remain the responsibility of the engaged licensed contractor.

2. Advisory-Only Nature of Services

All recommendations, specifications, and system outlines issued by H2O Supplies are advisory in nature and are based on manufacturer information, site observations, and industry best practice.

They are intended to assist the client or their contractor in selecting appropriate waterproofing products and approaches.

H2O Supplies does not guarantee the outcome, performance, or durability of any works carried out by contractors or third parties.

3. Client Responsibilities

The client must:

  • Provide accurate information about the site, access, and project requirements.

  • Ensure safe access for site visits (including permits, keys, inductions, and escorts where needed).

  • Engage a licensed waterproofing contractor to carry out any physical works.

  • Ensure contractors follow all applicable regulations, including the NCC, QBCC requirements, and relevant Australian Standards (such as AS3740, AS4654.1/2, AS4858).

The client is responsible for acting on the advice or specifications provided.

4. Fees & Payment Terms

Professional consultancy fees are charged as outlined in the proposal supplied to the client.

Because consultancy work requires allocation of technical resources, time, and coordination with manufacturers, full payment is required prior to the commencement of any consultancy service, including site visits, assessments, and preparation of advisory documentation.

H2O Supplies does not commence work until payment has been received and cleared.

Consultancy fees are non-refundable once a site visit has occurred or documentation has commenced.

Where staged services are provided, H2O Supplies may invoice in parts at its discretion.

5. Deliverables

Consultancy deliverables may include:

  • A written site assessment summary.

  • A suggested system specification.

  • Product recommendations based on site conditions.

  • Supporting manufacturer documentation where applicable.

Deliverables are issued in PDF format unless stated otherwise.

Timeframes may vary depending on weather, safety, manufacturer response times, and client availability.

6. Limitations

H2O Supplies does not:

  • Provide waterproofing installation services.

  • Guarantee waterproofing outcomes performed by others.

  • Assume responsibility for structural elements, plumbing systems, drainage design, or engineering.

  • Act as superintendent, project manager, or certifier.

  • Provide legal, insurance, or engineering advice.

Specifications provided are suitable as guidance only and must be implemented by qualified trades.

7. Manufacturer Collaboration

In some projects, H2O Supplies may liaise with waterproofing manufacturers or suppliers to obtain technical input.

Final responsibility for compliance, installation, and workmanship remains with the engaged contractor.

8. Variations

Any change in scope, additional site visits, re-inspection requests, new documentation, or redesign due to contractor deviations may incur additional fees.

Variations will be communicated and agreed upon before proceeding.

9. Cancellation Policy

Where a booking has been confirmed:

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before a scheduled site visit may incur a call-out fee.

  • Site conditions preventing access (unsafe, locked, incomplete works, no escort, etc.) may require re-booking and additional fees.

10. Liability

H2O Supplies’ liability is limited to the value of the consultancy fee paid.

We are not liable for:

  • Workmanship defects by contractors.

  • Damage arising from incorrect installation.

  • Structural defects, plumbing failures, or drainage issues.

  • Any consequential loss, delays, or rectification costs.

Contractors must conduct all works in accordance with Australian Standards, manufacturer requirements, and applicable laws.

11. Intellectual Property

All written reports, specifications, and documents remain the intellectual property of H2O Supplies unless paid in full.

Clients may use the documents only for the project for which they were issued.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By accepting a proposal, signing a consultancy agreement, making payment, or requesting services, the client acknowledges and agrees to these Terms of Engagement.
