Overview & Features
- - Designed for dry recessing in new or cured concrete slabs only.
- - Compatible with standard PVC puddle flanges, including the Allproof Leak Control flange.
- - Typical consumable disc life is approximately 7 to 15 recesses, depending on concrete hardness, aggregate and operator technique.
- - Available as a kit only or bundled with a Makita 230mm grinder.
Application Guide
- 1. Confirm the substrate is concrete, inspect the work area and ensure the drainage pipe is secure and stable.
- 2. Mark the drain centre and confirm the selected flange diameter and thickness before setting the recess depth.
- 3. Fit the kit to a compatible 230mm (9 inch) M14 grinder and check that the discs and dust shroud are secured correctly.
- 4. Connect the shroud to an M-class or better construction dust extractor; H-class extraction is preferred.
- 5. Use a fit-tested P2 respirator, eye and hearing protection and a 30mA RCD. Do not use the kit for wet cutting with a mains-powered grinder.
- 6. Start the extractor, place the assembly flat on the slab and apply steady, even pressure. Allow the diamond discs to work without forcing the grinder.
- 7. Cut the 150mm and 230mm recess diameters in one controlled pass to the depth required for the selected flange.
- 8. Switch off and isolate the grinder, then vacuum the recess thoroughly. Do not dry sweep or use compressed air.
- 9. Test-fit the puddle flange and confirm it sits flush without rocking or leaving proud edges.
- 10. Bond and seal the flange and terminate the waterproofing membrane strictly in accordance with the flange, bonding product and membrane manufacturers' requirements.
