Technical and product guidance for the item you’re viewing.

  • Suitable for internal and external wall and floor applications.
  • Approximately 8 m² coverage per 20 kg bag using a 10 mm notch trowel.
  • Approximately 30-minute open time and two-hour pot life at 23°C and 50% RH.
  • Minimum seven-hour setting period before grouting under stated conditions.
  • Low-odour, water-washable formulation with VOC below 1 g/L.
  • PDS states performance exceeds AS 4992 requirements.
  • 1. Confirm the substrate is clean, dry and free from dust, wax, oil, grease, laitance, curing compounds, paint, coatings and other contaminants.
  • 2. Ensure fibre-cement sheeting and plasterboard are fixed to the manufacturer's requirements, then sponge down with clean water to remove dust. Prime Scyon Secura and Cemintel Constructafloor with ACT PR-1, or waterproof with ACT WP-1 in wet areas.
  • 3. Test substrate absorption with water. If water is absorbed, sponge the surface with clean water before spreading. If water beads or is not absorbed, apply ACT PR-1.
  • 4. Confirm existing tiles are sound and not loose or drummy. Clean thoroughly and mechanically grind where adhesion is uncertain, then remove all dust.
  • 5. Mix one 20 kg bag with approximately 6 L of clean drinking water to a smooth, lump-free consistency. Allow the mix to stand for three minutes, then re-stir.
  • 6. Provide movement joints through the tiling system in accordance with AS 3958.1-2007 and keep joints free of adhesive and grout residue.
  • 7. Work the adhesive into the substrate with the appropriate notched trowel. Maintain a minimum adhesive bed of 2 mm on walls and 4 mm on floors, subject to tile size.
  • 8. Lay tiles while the adhesive remains wet and tacky. If skinning occurs within the approximately 30-minute open time, remove the affected adhesive and apply fresh material.
  • 9. Allow at least seven hours before grouting at 23°C and 50% RH. Permit additional curing time over waterproofing membranes, impervious substrates or beneath non-absorbent tiles.
