Adheseal PU25FC is a one-component, moisture-curing polyurethane sealant and adhesive for internal and external construction joints. It accommodates ±25% joint movement and cures to a permanently elastic seal for window perimeters, precast panels, pavement joints and metal cladding. It bonds to suitable prepared concrete, masonry, timber, metals, fibreglass and compatible plastics, subject to adhesion testing. Available in 600 mL sausages and cartons of 20, it can be painted with compatible paints after adhesion testing; rigid coatings may crack over moving joints. Use the specified substrate preparation and primers where required. It is unsuitable for internal swimming pools, aquariums, structural glazing, mirror bonding, bituminous surfaces, natural rubber and EPDM.
  • Accommodates ±25% movement in correctly designed joints.
  • Forms a permanently elastic joint seal.
  • Supports both sealing and bonding across documented construction substrates.

Technical and product guidance for the item you’re viewing.

  • Elongation at break >400% (ISO 8339)
  • Modulus 0.4 MPa at 100% elongation (ISO 8339)
  • Passed UV testing as stated under ASTM C793
  • Tested to AS/NZS 4020 for potable water contact
  • 1. Confirm compatibility by adhesion testing and stain-test stone. Use structurally sound, stable, dry, clean substrates free of surface water, continual dampness and contaminants; allow concrete to cure for at least 28 days.
  • 2. Clean impervious surfaces using the specified two-wipe method and suitable solvent. Lightly abrade appropriate non-porous surfaces.
  • 3. Follow the primer selection chart: Adheseal 50A for appropriate non-porous substrates and Everflex Supaprime for porous substrates. The detailed TDS procedure specifies at least 30 minutes and no more than 2 hours between priming and sealant application.
  • 4. Design the joint to the TDS width/depth guidance: maximum width 30 mm and depth 15 mm. Use backing rod where required to control depth and prevent three-sided adhesion; the TDS specifies rod 25% larger than joint width.
  • 5. Load the sausage into a suitable gun. For sealing, hold the nozzle at 45° and push sealant firmly ahead into the joint with continuous contact to both sides.
  • 6. For bonding, apply the specified triangular bead and compress to no less than 2 mm. Tool and remove masking before skin formation; the TDS contains conflicting skin-time values, so obtain confirmation rather than relying on a stated open time.
  • 7. Allow curing appropriate to bead thickness and conditions: approximately 3 mm/day at 25°C and 50% RH. Below-waterline use requires full cure. Refer to the TDS/SDS for limitations and safe handling.
  • Chemistry: one-component polyurethane; atmospheric moisture cure
  • Packaging: 600 mL foil sausage; carton of 20
  • Colours: white (nearest RAL 9003), concrete grey (7047), black (9011)
  • Joint movement: ±25%; ISO 11600 Type F Class 25 LM as stated in TDS
  • Shore A: 25 after 14 days
  • Elongation at break: >400% (ISO 8339)
  • Modulus: 0.4 MPa at 100% elongation (ISO 8339)
  • Tear strength: 6.5 N/mm (ISO 34)
  • Density: black 1.15; other colours 1.16 ±0.02 specific gravity
  • Cure rate: approximately 3 mm/day at 25°C and 50% RH; varies with atmospheric conditions and substrate porosity
  • Service temperature: −40°C to +80°C
  • Shelf life: 12 months in original packaging; store cool and dry at 10–35°C
  • AS 1530.3 test report 23-000124: ignitability 0; flame spread 0; heat evolved 0; smoke developed 0–1; this is not a fire-resistance rating
  • SDS: hazardous chemical; not classified as dangerous goods for road/rail, sea or air transport
  • Skin time, application temperature and VOC figures require manufacturer clarification due to conflicting TDS entries
