Application Guide
- 1. Confirm the substrate is sound, clean, smooth and free of standing water and contamination. New concrete and render require 28 days' cure; screeds and polymer-modified renders require 7 days.
- 2. Porous substrates may be primed with Bostik Multiprime to help avoid pinholes. Abrade burnished concrete to open pores. Apply Bostik N40 Primer to dry rigid plastic and metal by the two-cloth method.
- 3. Detail joints and penetrations with specified bond breaker tape and Bostik V70 Silicone in accordance with the TDS and relevant installation standard.
- 4. Add powder into clean water while mixing mechanically. Use 6–7 L water per bag for roller/spray, 5–6 L for brush or 4.2–4.5 L for trowel; do not hand mix.
- 5. Apply at least two coats, each a uniform minimum 1.0 mm wet film, using a gauge; do not exceed 2 mm per coat. Recoat after 1–2 hours for a 1 mm coat at 22°C/50% RH. For special applications including negative pressure, trowel at least two layers to 3 mm total thickness.
- 6. Protect the membrane during initial cure. Allow 24 hours at 22°C/50% RH before flood testing once critical details are dry; allow 4 days before pool tiling and 2 weeks before potable water contact.
Specifications & Standards
- 20 kg cement-grey powder; one-component fibre-reinforced cementitious membrane. Mix per 20 kg bag with 6–7 L water for roller/spray, 5–6 L for brush or 4.2–4.5 L for trowel. Consumption 1.2 kg/m² per mm thickness; two minimum 1 mm coats give approximately 8.3 m² theoretical coverage per bag. Minimum dry film thickness after two coats: 1.0 mm. For special applications including negative pressure, trowel at least two layers to 3 mm total thickness. Recoat 1–2 hours for a 1 mm coat at 22°C/50% RH. Pot life >30 minutes under the same conditions. Following trades after 24 hours; swimming pool tiling after 4 days; potable water contact after 2 weeks. Apply at 5–35°C. Store unopened at 5–30°C for up to 12 months.
