Technical and product guidance for the item you’re viewing.

  • Components A and B are mixed in equal proportions
  • Applied at approximately 100–200 g/m²
  • Suitable beneath smoothing and levelling compounds and cementitious mortars
  • May be applied by brush, roller, rubber float or smooth trowel
  • Turns transparent while remaining tacky before the next layer is applied
  • Do not apply to damp substrates or areas subject to rising damp
  • 1. Confirm the substrate is suitable and dry. Do not apply Mapeprim SP to damp substrates or areas subject to rising damp.
  • 2. Remove oil, grease, loose plaster, laitance, paint residue and any other material that may impair adhesion.
  • 3. Combine Component A and Component B in equal proportions and mix until the colour is homogeneous. Use the mixed primer within approximately 3 hours at +23°C.
  • 4. Apply approximately 100–200 g/m² by brush, roller, rubber float or smooth trowel, adjusting consumption to substrate texture and absorption. If required for workability, dilute with approximately 5–10% clean water.
  • 5. Allow the primer to turn transparent while remaining tacky. Under the TDS reference conditions, this normally occurs after approximately 1–3 hours.
  • 6. Apply the compatible smoothing compound or cementitious mortar while the primer remains tacky and within 24 hours.
  • 7. Wash tools, containers and affected clothing immediately with clean water before the material hardens.
  • Product type: Two-component solvent-free synthetic-resin primer

  • Pot life: Approximately 3 hours at +23°C
  • Application temperature: +5°C to +40°C
  • Application rate: Approximately 100–200 g/m²
  • Dilution: Approximately 5–10% water where required to improve workability
  • Application tools: Brush, roller, rubber float or smooth trowel
  • Waiting time: Approximately 1–3 hours at +23°C and 50% RH
  • Maximum time before next layer: Within 24 hours
