  • 1. Confirm the filter manufacturer specifies 16/30 mesh sand media and determine the required fill mass.
  • 2. Isolate, empty and inspect the filter in accordance with the equipment manufacturer's instructions.
  • 3. Fill the filter carefully to avoid damage to internal laterals or collectors.
  • 4. Commission, backwash and rinse strictly in accordance with the filter manufacturer's procedure.
  • Coating broadcast use
  • 1. Confirm the selected primer, resin or coating TDS permits clean, dry silica sand of approximately 0.6–1.2 mm.
  • 2. Keep the bag sealed and dry. Do not use damp or contaminated aggregate.
  • 3. Apply the receiving coating at the specified film build.
  • 4. While the coating remains wet, broadcast the sand evenly at the specified rate or to refusal where required by the system.
  • 5. Allow the coating to cure, then sweep and vacuum all loose, unbound aggregate.
  • 6. Check that the bonded sand provides a continuous mechanical key without loose areas.
  • 7. Apply the next compatible layer within the system's specified recoat window.
  • Avoid generating airborne dust and follow the current SDS for PPE and handling controls.
