Technical and product guidance for the item you’re viewing.

  • Maintains original substrate appearance
  • Suitable for internal and external use
  • Foot trafficable once cured
  • Low VOC and non-flammable formulation
  • Surface inspection and repairs
  • Inspect for voids, cracks, protrusions, loose grout and unstable or damaged areas. Remove and replace compromised grout with new grout, ACTFLEX MS PRO or SOUDAL T-REX. Replace cracked tiles. Repair cracks in concrete, render or screeds with a suitable repair mortar or MS polymer sealant.
  • Cleaning and drying
  • Remove laitance, debris and friable material with stiff-bristle brushes, scrapers and vacuum equipment. Treat moss and mould with one part household bleach to two parts water, rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Remove grease with suitable detergent, rinse with clean water and dry completely. Keep the surface free from water or rain for at least 3–5 days and confirm moisture content is below 4%.
  • Mixing and application
  • Mechanically mix two parts ACTFLEX 400 Clear with one part water for brush or roller application; for example, 1 kg product with 0.5 L water. Apply neat by trowel. Use a trowel, brush or roller, with a mohair roller recommended for the first coat. Fill missing grout areas with a scraper and trowel where required.
  • Coat sequence and curing
  • Apply two to three coats. Allow at least four hours between coats and apply all coats within 48 hours. Achieve a minimum 0.5 mm DFT over joints, grout lines, mortar, concrete and level surfaces, and 0.2 mm DFT over tiles. The application instructions require 5–7 days full cure after the final coat at 25°C and 50% RH, without water interruption.
  • Slip resistance
  • For a slip-resistant finish, broadcast ACTFLEX Anti-Slip into the wet first coat, then blow off excess before subsequent coats.
  • Critical limitations
  • Apply only to clean, completely dry surfaces between 10°C and 26°C. Do not apply if rain is forecast within 24 hours. Use only on floors with positive falls and no continuous ponding. ACTFLEX 400 Clear is not a vapour barrier, does not resist hydrostatic pressure or rising damp, is not vehicle trafficable, and is not compatible with silicone or chlorine-based products. Test compatibility before use. It is a temporary tiled-area leak solution with an expected service period of up to five years that is not guaranteed.
  • Product type transparent surface waterproofing membrane
  • Colour clear semi-gloss finish
  • Application method roller brush or trowel
  • System build 2–3 coats
  • Coverage approx 3 m² per kg depending on surface porosity
  • Recoat time minimum 4 hours
  • Waterproof time approx 3 hours
  • Full cure 5–7 days at 25°C
  • Minimum substrate temperature 10°C
