FORCEM Screed Binder is a single-component, high-performance cement-based hydraulic binder formulated with MineralCore Technology for producing rapid-drying, controlled-shrinkage screeds. When mixed at five parts clean graded sand or aggregate to one part binder by weight, it produces a moist-earth screed suitable for bonded, unbonded and floating applications. It can be used internally or externally in commercial, residential and renovation work, including screeds over underfloor-heating systems and bases for compatible tiles, resilient flooring, timber, natural stone and carpet. The standard FORCEM screed achieves 17 MPa at one day, 25 MPa at seven days and 30 MPa at 28 days, with residual moisture below 3% after 24 hours under typical conditions using the calcium carbide method. Minimum thicknesses are 10 mm bonded, 40 mm unbonded and 55 mm floating.
  • Produces rapid-drying screeds with residual moisture below 3% after 24 hours under typical CM test conditions.
  • Develops compressive strength of 17 MPa at one day and 30 MPa at 28 days.
  • Controlled-shrinkage performance supports dimensional stability in correctly designed screeds.

  • Residual moisture below 3% after 24 hours under typical conditions using the CM method
  • Compressive strength: 17 MPa at 1 day, 25 MPa at 7 days and 30 MPa at 28 days
  • Suitable for bonded, unbonded, floating and underfloor-heating screeds
  • Suitable for manual placement and approved screed pumping equipment
  • Compatible with ACTFLEX 300 where the enhanced mix or slurry bond coat is specified
  • Not a standalone waterproofing membrane or final wearing surface
  • 1. Select the screed construction and maintain the minimum thickness: 10 mm bonded, 40 mm unbonded or 55 mm floating.
  • 2. Use clean, washed, correctly graded 0–8 mm aggregate. For each 20 kg bag, measure 100 kg total aggregate and maintain the fixed 5:1 ratio by weight.
  • 3. Dry blend the binder and aggregate for approximately 60 seconds. Add about 70% of the calculated liquid, mix for 2–3 minutes, then add only enough remaining liquid to achieve a compactable moist-earth consistency. Continue mixing until the total mixing time reaches at least five minutes.
  • 4. For bonded screeds, mechanically prepare and vacuum the concrete. Apply the specified 3:2 FORCEM-to-ACTFLEX 300 slurry at approximately 2–3 mm and place the screed immediately while the slurry is wet and tacky.
  • 5. For unbonded screeds, install a minimum 200 μm polyethylene slip sheet with 200 mm flat overlaps and turn it up at perimeters. Install a compressible perimeter strip where required.
  • 6. Place, compact, strike off to the required falls and finish within the 90–120 minute working time. Do not add surface water, dry cement or retemper material.
  • 7. Protect from rain, rapid drying, wind, frost, heat and premature traffic. Continue structural and movement joints through the screed and floor finish.
  • 8. Light foot traffic is generally permitted after approximately eight hours. Waterproofing may generally proceed after approximately 24 hours, subject to the selected membrane system, moisture condition and site requirements.
  • 20 kg single-component grey powder. Standard batch: 20 kg FORCEM plus 100 kg clean graded 0–8 mm sand or aggregate at a 5:1 ratio by weight. Add approximately 8.5–9.0 L water when using dry aggregate, reduced to allow for aggregate moisture. Consumption is approximately 2.0–2.5 kg/m² per 10 mm thickness. Application temperature is 5–30°C and working time is approximately 90–120 minutes.
