ACT ADH-66 Light is a premium lightweight white C2ETS2 cement-based tile adhesive for internal and external wall and floor tiling, including swimming pools and submerged applications. Its S2 highly deformable, non-slip/non-slump formulation suits large-format tiles and demanding commercial installations. Suitable substrates include correctly prepared concrete, green and sand-cement screeds, render, fibre-cement, plasterboard, existing tiles and compatible ACT under-tile waterproofing membranes. Mix one 13 kg bag with approximately 5.5 L of clean drinking water. Coverage is approximately 9 m² using a 10 mm notch trowel. Do not apply directly over 100% polyurethane or fibreglass membranes, plastics, metals, timber-based sheets or moisture-sensitive stone.

  • Ensure substrates are clean, dry and free from dust, wax, oil, grease, laitance, curing compounds, paint, coatings and other bond-breaking contaminants. Fix fibre-cement and plasterboard to the sheet manufacturer's requirements and remove surface dust. Prime Scyon Secura and Cemintel Constructafloor with ACT PR-1. In wet areas, apply ACT WP-1 or another ACT-approved under-tile waterproofing membrane and allow it to fully cure. Test substrate absorption with water; where water beads or is not absorbed, prime with ACT PR-1. Mix one 13 kg bag with approximately 5.5 L of clean drinking water, allow three minutes, then re-stir. Apply with the appropriate notched trowel, maintaining a minimum 2 mm bed on walls and 4 mm on floors. Allow at least seven hours before grouting, with longer curing over impervious substrates or beneath non-absorbent tiles.

ACT ADH-66 Product FAQs

What coverage does ACT ADH-66 provide?
A 13 kg bag covers approximately 9 m² when applied with a 10 mm notch trowel. Actual consumption can vary with substrate condition, tile profile, trowel selection and required adhesive bed.
How much water is required for a 13 kg bag of ADH-66?
Mix one 13 kg bag with approximately 5.5 litres of clean drinking water. Mix to a smooth lump-free consistency, allow the mix to stand for three minutes, then re-stir before use.
Does ACT ADH-66 require a primer?
In normal circumstances separate priming is not required on absorbent substrates because ADH-66 uses Infused Primer Technology. If water beads or is not absorbed, the ACT PDS requires ACT PR-1 impervious primer. Scyon Secura and Cemintel Constructafloor also require PR-1.
Can ACT ADH-66 be used in swimming pools?
Yes. ACT lists ADH-66 for swimming pools and submerged applications, subject to correct substrate preparation, compatible waterproofing and installation in accordance with the current product data sheet.
Can ACT ADH-66 be installed over waterproofing membranes?
ADH-66 is suitable over ACT WP-1 and other ACT-approved under-tile waterproofing membranes once fully cured. It must not be applied directly over 100% polyurethane or fibreglass waterproofing membranes.
